Soccer Recap: Hilmar Comes Up Short

Hilmar and Summerville squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Hilmar had to settle for second. While the 0-0 score might suggest a draw, it was the Summerville Bears who were credited with the win. The Summerville Bears got it done in the shootout by posting five goals to the Hilmar Yellowjackets' four. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bears this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-0 back in December of 2024.

Hilmar's defeat dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Summerville, the victory was the 12th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 20-3.

Hilmar does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Summerville, they will challenge Ben Holt College Prep Academy at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Ben Holt College Prep Academy will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Summerville surely won't give up without a fight.
