Basketball Recap: Columbia Comes Up Short

On Friday, the Columbia Coyotes came up short against the Freeman Scotties and fell 53-40.

Taylee Phelps went supernova for Freeman, dropping a double-double on 30 points and 11 rebounds. The game was Phelps' third in a row with at least ten points. Rylee Russell was another key player, putting up 14 points and five steals.

Columbia's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Freeman, they moved to 1-3 with that win, which also ended their five-game losing streak.

Columbia didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 50-40 victory against Colfax on the 14th. As for Freeman, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 60-53 win against Pullman on the 17th.
