Midland Legacy had to settle for second on Friday, but Cole Neatherlin sure wasn't going down easily. Neatherlin went 2-for-4 with two doubles, one stolen base, and one RBI, good enough for us to rate the performance as the best he's had all season long. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high.

Even though Neatherlin couldn't lead Midland Legacy over San Angelo Central, he won't have to wait long to try again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Sadly, Neatherlin's big day wasn't enough to stop the loss, which snapped Midland Legacy's nine-game streak of wins on the road. With the streak broken, Neatherlin and Midland Legacy surely have a bit of extra motivation heading into Friday's match.
