Baseball Game Preview: Monsignor Pace Spartans vs. Taravella Trojans

The Monsignor Pace Spartans will challenge the Taravella Trojans at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Monsignor Pace was handed a eight-run loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Gulliver Prep, sneaking past 7-6.

Daniel Fumero looked comfortable as he tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Robert Kramer was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run. That home run was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Yuniel Paredes, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Taravella sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 win over Western on Thursday.

Alexander Almanzar looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

At the plate, Taravella's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was JC Martinez, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

Monsignor Pace's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-3. As for Taravella, their victory bumped their record up to 5-1.
