It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Sandwich ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Dennis-Yarmouth Regional Dolphins, sneaking past 3-2. The Blue Knights haven't had any issues with the Dolphins recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

James Lehane was excellent, going 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Drew Peters was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Sandwich's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 5-7. As for Dennis-Yarmouth Regional, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sandwich will head out to challenge Bishop Stang at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Blue Knights' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Spartans have averaged an impressive 6.8 runs per game this season. As for Dennis-Yarmouth Regional, they are taking a road trip to face off against Nauset Regional at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
