Softball Recap: Muncy Takes a Loss

After flying high against Millville last Wednesday, Muncy came back down to earth. The Indians fell just short of the Sullivan County Griffins by a score of 5-4 on Thursday. Indians fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Griffins since on Thursday.

Chevelle Bauman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on six hits and racked up 11 Ks.

At the plate, Taylor Shannon was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run and three RBI.

Muncy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Sullivan County, their victory bumped their record up to 5-3.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Muncy will take on rival Northwest Area at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Sullivan County is set to square off against their familiar foe Sugar Valley Rural at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
