Flag Football Recap: Strong Effort on D from Alyssa Stoner and Siena Vejariel Leads Upland over Gahr

Upland extended their postseason success on Saturday against Gahr. They walked away with a 33-23 win over the Gladiators. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Highlanders/Scots' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' California flag football rankings (they are ranked 35th, while the Gladiators are ranked 129th).

One reason for the win was Upland's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for five sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Alyssa Stoner and Siena Vejariel, who racked up all five sacks between them.

Upland has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 41.2 points over those games. As for Gahr, their defeat dropped their record down to 20-8.

Coming up, Upland will head out to challenge El Toro at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Highlanders/Scots 13, the Chargers 12.2) so any points scored will be well earned. Gahr does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
