Baseball Game Preview: Mississinewa Indians vs. Oak Hill Golden Eagles

Mississinewa hasn't had much luck against Oak Hill recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Indians will head out on the road to take on the Golden Eagles at 5:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Mississinewa not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 29th (when they won 16-6). They never let Blackford get on the board and left with a 10-0 win. The Indians haven't had any issues with the Bruins recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, Oak Hill waltzed into their contest on Wednesday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 7-6 W against the Panthers. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Golden Eagles have posted since April 14th.

The team relied heavily on Trenner Boswell, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Cam Aguilar, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

Oak Hill's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-7. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for Mississinewa, their record is now 10-8.

Mississinewa couldn't quite get it done against Oak Hill in their previous meeting two weeks ago as they fell 8-3. Can the Indians avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
