Football Recap: Shorecrest Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Shorecrest extended their losing streak to four on Friday, dropping them down to 2-5. They took a 34-21 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Monroe Bearcats. If the Scots were looking for revenge after losing 42-14 to the Bearcats when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Despite the defeat, Shorecrest saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Camden Schmitz rushed for 212 yards and two touchdowns.

Monroe's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-6. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Monroe's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Chris Britt led the charge by throwing for 290 yards on 18 of 32 attempts, while also punching in one score on the ground. Joshua Ward was another key pass catcher, picking up 175 receiving yards.
