Softball Recap: Chillicothe Gets the Win

Chillicothe won the last time they faced Miami Trace and things went their way on Monday too. The Cavaliers walked away with a 6-1 win over the Panthers.

CJ Rittinger made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out 17 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 13 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one triple and two RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on S Wade, who went 2-for-3 with two runs. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of C Boltenhouse, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Chillicothe kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Miami Trace only managed two.

Chillicothe's victory bumped their record up to 16-2. As for Miami Trace, they dropped their record down to 6-11 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home.

Chillicothe will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Panthers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
