Soccer Recap: Topsail Comes Up Short

After flying high against North Brunswick on Thursday, Topsail came back down to earth. The Pirates fell 4-2 to the Hoggard Vikings on Monday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Hoggard this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-2 back in April.

Ryan Lambert and Sailor Heitmann scored both of Topsail's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 24 goals.

Topsail's defeat dropped their record down to 10-8-5. As for Hoggard, they pushed their record up to 18-1 with the victory, which was their 12th straight at home.

Topsail didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 win against Laney on the 7th. As for Hoggard, they have also already played their next contest, an 8-0 victory against New Hanover on the 7th.
