Recap: Meeker Bulldogs vs. Oklahoma Christian Saints

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Meeker Bulldogs had no problem doing just that on Friday. They walked away with a 27-14 victory over Oklahoma Christian. The win was nothing new for Meeker as they're now sitting on four straight.

Meeker was led to victory by Treyvon Compton and Ajay Lynch. Compton rushed for 123 yards on only 12 carries, while Lynch rushed for 164 yards and two touchdowns. Lynch hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for four straight games. Manny Saavedra did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 116 receiving yards and a touchdown.

Several Saints players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Garret Wilson, who threw for 343 yards and two touchdowns. Wilson is on a roll when it comes to passing yards, as he's now passed for 300 or more in the last three games he's played. Luke Gray was another key contributor, picking up 126 receiving yards and a touchdown.

Meeker has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. As for Oklahoma Christian, their loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 9-2.

Meeker will take on Washington at TBD on Friday. One thing working in Washington's favor is that they have now posted big point totals every time they've taken the field this season. Oklahoma Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
