Football Recap: Mexico Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Mexico, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. Everything went their way against the Southern Boone Eagles on Friday as they made off with a 28-7 win. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Bulldogs just coasted through the last quarter.

Drew Demint was a one-man wrecking crew as he rushed for 120 yards and two scores on only ten carries. That's the most rushing touchdowns he has posted since back in October of 2024. Korbyn Dorsey was another key back, rushing for 72 yards and one touchdown.

Mexico didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Dorsey and Demint.

The victory got Mexico back to even at 1-1. As for Southern Boone, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Mexico will be playing in front of their home fans against Odessa at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Southern Boone, they will head out to face off against California at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The game will give the Eagles their first taste of in-conference action this season.
