Volleyball Recap: Syracuse Extends Winning Streak to Three

Syracuse waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Falls City Tigers. The Rockets have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Tigers, too.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Syracuse who won the one that mattered. The final score came out to 25-20, 22-25, 25-19.

Tatumn Walters paced Syracuse's offense, picking up 19 kills. Walters got some help from Ava Mohr and her 33 assists. Audrey Liesemeyer and Isabel Schizas kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with two aces apiece.

Despite the loss, Falls City still got an impressive performance from Gabi Young, who had 23 digs and four assists. Young has been hot recently, having posted 14 or more digs the last three times she's played.

Syracuse's victory bumped their record up to 7-9. As for Falls City, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-8.

Syracuse has already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Lourdes Central Catholic on the 25th. As for Falls City, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-1 loss against Brownell Talbot on the 29th.
