Basketball Recap: Como-Pickton's Luck Changes for the Better on Saturday

Como-Pickton can finally bid farewell to their 15-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. They came out on top against the Trinity Christian Academy Warriors by a score of 55-46. The win was all the more spectacular given the Eagles' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1578th, while the Warriors are ranked 721st).

Trinity Christian Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Luke Nutt, who posted 15 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Nutt has been hot, having posted 15 or more points the last eight times he's played. Luke Rolen was another key player, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 11 boards.

Como-Pickton's victory bumped their record up to 4-15. As for Trinity Christian Academy, they moved to 13-4 with that defeat, which also ended their six-game winning streak.

Como-Pickton will look to defend their home court on Friday against Cumby at 8:00 p.m. Cumby is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.5 points per game this season. As for Trinity Christian Academy, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 47-44 win against Texoma Christian on the 28th.
