Softball Recap: Delaware Valley Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Robbinsville, Delaware Valley was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Gill St. Bernard's Knights by a score of 5-2. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Grace Slack spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on eight hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Lilly Rynearson, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Ava Figalora, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Delaware Valley's victory bumped their record up to 10-4. As for Gill St. Bernard's, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-6-1.

Delaware Valley will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Knights: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
