Softball Recap: Dover-Eyota Gets the Win

While Dover-Eyota put up some runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Rushford-Peterson. The Eagles came out on top against the Trojans by a score of 4-0. The win continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Trojans: they've now won nine in a row.

The result came thanks to Aubrey Foster's shutout, as she gave up just four hits and racked up 11 Ks.

On the hitting side, Olivea Banitt was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Miranda Palmby was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs.

Dover-Eyota's victory bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Rushford-Peterson, they dropped their record down to 1-6 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dover-Eyota will head out to challenge Stewartville at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Tigers' pitching crew has only allowed 0.8 runs per game this season, so the Eagles' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Rushford-Peterson, they will head out on the road to take on Fillmore Central/Lanesboro at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
