Preview: Genesee Wolves vs. Bendle Tigers
The Genesee Wolves will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Bendle Tigers at 5:30 p.m. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Genesee posted their biggest victory yet this season on Tuesday. They took their match on the road with ease, bagging a 58-26 victory over Beecher. The win was just what Genesee needed coming off of a 64-43 loss in their prior contest.
Genesee found their leader in underclassman Averie Zinn, who almost dropped a triple-double on 33 points, nine rebounds, and 16 steals. That makes it ten consecutive games in which Zinn has scored at least a third of Genesee's points. Simpson Autumn was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Meanwhile, Bendle put the finishing touches on their fourth blowout victory of the season on Tuesday. They blew past Atherton 48-24. The win was a breath of fresh air for Bendle as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
The win got Genesee back to even at 5-5. As for Bendle, their win bumped their record up to 4-6.
Genesee was able to grind out a solid win over Bendle in their previous meeting back in March of 2023, winning 43-31. Does Genesee have another victory up their sleeve, or will Bendle turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
