Volleyball Recap: Shafter Beats Taft for Their 17th Straight Win + How To Watch

Shafter waltzed into their match on Thursday with 16 straight wins... but they left with 17. They put the hurt on the Taft Wildcats with a sharp 3-0 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Generals also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Shafter took every set by at least 11 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-1, 25-9.

Sydnee Macias paced Shafter's offense, picking up eight kills. Macias got some help from Mikayla Villagomez and her 19 assists. Kyla Schooley controlled things from the service line, finishing with 11 aces.

Shafter's win bumped their record up to 21-1. As for Taft, they dropped their record down to 4-11 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Shafter will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against McFarland at 6:15 p.m. As for Taft, they have already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Santa Clarita Christian on the 12th.
