Basketball Game Preview: Bolton Wildcats vs. Fayette Ware Wildcats

Bolton is 0-10 against Fayette Ware since February of 2020 but things could change on Tuesday. The Bolton Wildcats will head out on the road to challenge the Fayette Ware Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. One thing working in Bolton's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.

Last Thursday, Bolton ended up a good deal behind Memphis Home Education Association and lost 96-78. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 190th, while Memphis Home Education Association are ranked 18th).

Meanwhile, Fayette Ware waltzed into their match on Friday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They took down the Diplomat Lions 69-50.

Bolton better focus on containing Tacarien Freeman and Tarecous Stevens as the pair were huge in Fayette Ware's win. Freeman went 7 for 15 en route to 19 points along with six assists and five rebounds, while Stevens dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 boards. With that strong performance, Freeman is now averaging an impressive 15.2 points per game. Christopher Ransom was another key player, putting up six points and seven rebounds.

Fayette Ware pushed their record up to 13-5 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.3 points per game. As for Bolton, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-9.

Things could have been worse for Bolton, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 74-55 loss to Fayette Ware in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Thankfully for Bolton, Jeremiah Hayes (who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 boards) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
