Needham entered their tilt with Milton on Thursday with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. They came out on top against the Wildcats by a score of 9-6. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 17-4 back in April.

Liv Kirschner and Audrey Muzikant did most of the damage at the plate: Kirschner went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Muzikant went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave Muzikant a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Maddie Navales, who went 3-for-4 with two runs.

Needham was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .438. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .308 or higher in three consecutive matchups.

Needham's record is now 10-2. As for Milton, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 6-3.

Needham and Milton should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Massachusetts Rankings. The Rockets (ranked 14th) will meet Framingham (ranked 242nd) at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Milton will face off against Medway at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (59 vs. 254).
