Baseball Recap: Chattanooga Christian Gets the Win

Chattanooga Christian had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the nine-run drubbing they dealt Webb on Wednesday. The Chargers never let the Spartans get on the board and left with a 9-0 win. Considering the Chargers have won five matchups by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Chattanooga Christian got a great performance from Will Fessler as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over 6.1 innings pitched. Those eight strikeouts gave Fessler a new career-high.

At the plate, Caleb Zurawick was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one home run. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Keegan Nieckula, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

Chattanooga Christian's victory bumped their record up to 10-5-1. As for Webb, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.

Chattanooga Christian will have a chance to go back-to-back against Webb: the pair will be back at it again later today.
