Softball Recap: Stringer Red Devils vs. Mize Bulldogs
Stringer not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since May 9, 2024. They blew past the Mize Bulldogs 14-5. The Red Devils haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Madilyn Graham made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up five earned runs off eight hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Jaycee Holifield was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Rylei Pickerell, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-4.
Stringer hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mize struck out nine times.
Stringer's record now sits at 6-2. As for Mize, their loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-4.
Looking ahead, Stringer will welcome Wayne County at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. Wayne County has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.6 runs per game on average), something Stringer will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Mize, they are taking a road trip to square off against West Jones at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
