Volleyball Recap: Lilly Franks' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Jennings County over Batesville

Jennings County extended their losing streak to three on Thursday, dropping them down to 8-5. They lost 3-0 to the Batesville Bulldogs. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Jennings County's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lilly Franks, who had 17 digs and four assists. Madelyn Maschino was another key player, getting ten assists and five digs.

As for Batesville, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win they have posted against Jennings County since September 7, 2017.

Batesville was led to victory by Anya Richey and Madelyn Dierckman. Richey had 14 digs and one assist, while Dierckman had 12 digs. Those 12 digs gave Dierckman a new career-high.

Jennings County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Silver Creek on the 15th. As for Batesville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Milan on the 13th.
