North Putnam is 0-10 against Danville since April of 2017 but things could change on Thursday. The Cougars will be playing at home against the Warriors at 5:30 p.m. North Putnam's pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so Danville's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
North Putnam took a eight-run defeat the last time they faced off against South Putnam, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Cougars never let the Eagles get on the board and left with a 1-0 win on Wednesday. While the Cougars didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-19), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Not much got past Tori Detro, who gave up just a hit and racked up 12 Ks to keep South Putnam off the board. Detro has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, North Putnam's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Hailey Strother, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Danville came tearing into Wednesday's game with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.5 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by a 12-3 margin over the Chargin' Chargers. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matches by nine runs or more this season.
Danville got a massive performance out of Addison Davis, who went a perfect 5-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those five hits gave Davis a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Alivea Abel, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Danville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
North Putnam's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Danville, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
