Volleyball Recap: May River Takes a Loss

May River was the 2-1 winner over Savannah Christian when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Sharks took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Raiders on Thursday.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Savannah Christian scored at least 17 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-17.

Josie Duncan paced May River's offense, picking up six kills. Duncan got some help from Jensen Skirtich and her eight assists.

May River's loss dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Savannah Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-4 record this season.

May River didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 defeat against St. Vincent's on the 2nd. As for Savannah Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Hilton Head Island on the 3rd.
