After a string of three wins, Akron's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 58-44 bruising from the Byers Bulldogs. The Rams were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bulldogs earlier this season, when they won 40-33.

Despite the loss, Akron still got an impressive performance from Anderson Filla, who shot 63% from the field to rack up 13 points and six boards. Filla is on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 47% in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Caleb Poss, who posted 11 points and seven rebounds.

Akron's loss dropped their record down to 12-10. As for Byers, they have been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-4 record this season.

Akron has already played their next contest, a 56-44 defeat against Sedgwick County on the 1st. As for Byers, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 52-42 win against Haxtun on the 1st.
