League recap: Clark powers St. Marys with hot hitting week

Mid-East league recap: 5/7/12

Kasey Clark was on fire this week, as he led Mid-East with a .571 average, one home run and nine RBIs. St. Marys compiled a record of 4-0 in that time.

Rossville made the biggest jump in the national rankings, moving from 38 to 30 thanks to a 2-0 record over the past week.

The Bears scored 36 runs this week to lead the league, but Wabaunsee is tops in runs scored this year, with 135.

St. Marys, the league leader in stolen bases this season with 86, added to its lead in that category with 19 more steals over the past week. Given the green light by manager Randy Wild II, Gavin Royer has racked up 19 steals on his own this season for the Bears.



St. Marys's Clark led the league with eight hits this week. On the season, he's hitting .589 and ranks first in the league with 43 hits.

Kasey Clark went 4-4 as St. Marys defeated Riley County 6-1 on May 1, 2012. He also drove in four runners.
