Baseball Recap: American Heritage Victorious

American Heritage proved they can win big last Friday (they won by ten) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 win over the Westminster Christian Warriors. The game was the first time the Patriots have beaten the Warriors on their field since April 14, 2018.

Santiago Montiel looked comfortable as he pitched 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jordan Rich, who scored two runs and stole Four bases. while going 1-for-4. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in stolen bases. Joseph Castro was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

American Heritage's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Westminster Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-6-1.

American Heritage didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 4-3 loss against Cardinal Newman on the 20th. As for Westminster Christian, they have also already played their next game, a 4-3 win against John Carroll Catholic on the 19th.
