Basketball Recap: Colton Marks' Big Game Can't Quite Lead South Newton over Delphi Community

South Newton lost against Delphi Community back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Rebels took a 63-49 bruising from the Oracles. The Rebels were down 52-29 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

South Newton's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Colton Marks, who shot 60% from the field on his way to 19 points and three steals. Matthew Armstrong was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with 13 points and nine boards.

South Newton's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Delphi Community, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Looking ahead, South Newton is taking a road trip to square off against Clinton Central at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Delphi Community, they will face off against Clinton Prairie at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
