Basketball Recap: Lillian Logan's Big Game Can't Quite Lead King's Christian over Calvary Academy

King's Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 33-26 to the Calvary Academy Warrior. The Knights were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warrior apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

King's Christian's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lillian Logan, who posted seven points and four steals. Logan is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Vivian Galvis, who scored three points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals.

Calvary Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Made Leppard led the charge by going 7 of 14 on her way to 16 points and five boards. That makes it 12 consecutive games in which Leppard has scored at least a third of Calvary Academy's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zoe Troy, who had six points and 11 rebounds.

King's Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Calvary Academy, their win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 3-9.

King's Christian has already played their next match, a 54-12 loss against Holy Cross on the 20th. As for Calvary Academy, they will host Veritas Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on January 24th. Veritas Christian Academy will roll in looking for their 11th straight victory, something Calvary Academy surely won't give up without a fight.
