Basketball Recap: Geneseo Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Jack Kreiss and Jaydon Burrage

Geneseo came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 74-53 to the Belvidere North Blue Thunder. The Maple Leafs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Blue Thunder apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2021.

Geneseo's loss came despite strong showings from Jaydon Burrage and Jack Kreiss. Burrage went 6-for-14 to rack up 14 points in addition to eight boards and five assists, while Kreiss posted 12 points. Kale Whitaker was another key player, putting up five points.

Geneseo's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Belvidere North, the victory also got them back to even at 1-1.

Coming up, Geneseo will challenge Macomb at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Belvidere North, they and Clark will face off at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest, having both just played.
