Basketball Recap: Maricopa Beats Shandon for Their Second Straight Victory

Maricopa won the last time they faced Shandon, and Michael Grysko did his part to make sure it happened again. The Maricopa Indians blew past the Shandon Outlaws 54-3 on Friday thanks in part to Grysko, who dropped a triple-double on 12 points, 21 boards, and ten steals. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 3.2 steals per game.

Aidan Roa was another key player, going 10 of 19 on his way to 22 points. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points.

The win made it two in a row for Maricopa and bumps their season record up to 5-1. As for Shandon, their defeat was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Maricopa and Alpaugh will compete for holiday cheer at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Shandon, they will head out to take on Valley Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
