Volleyball Recap: Montgomery Catholic Knights vs. Faith Academy Rams

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Montgomery Catholic can now relate to. They fell just short of the Faith Academy Rams by a score of 3-2 on Friday. The Knights were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rams apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2017.

Montgomery Catholic actually scored more points across those five sets (105-98), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 17-25, 16-25, 25-20, 25-23, 15-12.

Faith Academy was led to victory by Parker Goff and Chloe Duggan. Goff had 29 kills, 12 digs, and four aces, while Duggan had nine digs and three aces. Goff has been hot , having posted 11 or more kills the last seven times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kiersten Parker-Nelson, who had 17 digs.

Montgomery Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 29-13. As for Faith Academy, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 32-14.

Montgomery Catholic wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against Demopolis on the 25th. Faith Academy has also already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Providence Christian on the 25th.
