Softball Recap: Williamsville East's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Williamsville East). They came out on top against the Amherst Central Tigers by a score of 12-7 on Friday. Winning may never get old, but the Flames sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

The team relied heavily on Ava Wendell, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Wendell is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Lucy White, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Williamsville East kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in May of 2024.

Williamsville East's record now sits at 3-1. As for Amherst Central, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.
