Basketball Recap: Manzano Falls Despite Big Games from Kai Youngberg and Bryce Johnson

Manzano was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They lost 66-41 to the Santa Fe Demons. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Demons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 55-33 back in January.

Manzano's loss came despite strong showings from Bryce Johnson and Kai Youngberg. Johnson posted ten points and three blocks, while Youngberg had eight points. The dominant performance gave Johnson a new career-high in blocks. Broden Price also deserves some recognition as he posted his first blocks of the season.

Manzano's loss dropped their record down to 6-16. As for Santa Fe, their victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-6.

Manzano wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, an 83-35 defeat against Sandia on the 14th. As for Santa Fe, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 65-64 win against Eldorado on the 14th.
