Baseball Recap: Liberty Takes a Loss

Liberty was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 7-6 to the Centennial Bulldogs, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Patriots were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Grant Kelly made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Chris Onoszko, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4.

Liberty's loss dropped their record down to 12-8. As for Centennial, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season.

Liberty will be playing in front of their home fans against Green Valley at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Gators will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Patriots surely won't give up without a fight. Centennial will be paying especially close attention to Liberty's match: after Liberty faces off against Green Valley, they'll take on Centennial again at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
