Tellico Plains has gone  a perfect 10-0 against McMinn Central recently and they'll look to pad the win column further  on Monday. The Bears will square off against the Chargers at 5:30  p.m. Tellico Plains has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the  game with five straight  losses, while McMinn Central will come in with three straight  wins.
Last Tuesday, Tellico Plains came up short against Meigs County  and fell  7-4. That's two games in a row now that the Bears have lost by  exactly three  runs.
  Isabella Wright stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she fired off two  home runs while going 2-for-3. She also put up two  RBI, which were her first of the season. Another player making a difference was  Addison Joines, who  got on base  in three of her four plate appearances with one  home run.
Meanwhile, McMinn Central hadn't done well against Meigs County recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way  on Wednesday. The Chargers' pitcher stepped up to hand the Tigers  a   3-0 shutout.
 Lauren Peterson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She  didn't allow a single  earned run over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent  recently: she hasn't  given up  more than one  walk in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box,  going 3-for-4 with one  stolen base and one  RBI.
 In other batting news,  Riley Thompson was  excellent,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while going 1-for-3.  Kara Duckett was another key player,  going a perfect 3-for-3 with one  stolen base.
 McMinn Central  hit smart and  finished the game with only one  strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters  in three consecutive  matches.
 McMinn Central pushed their record up to 9-6 with the  victory, which was their third straight  at home. Those  home  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Tellico Plains, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-7.
 Tellico Plains beat McMinn Central 7-3  when the teams last played  back in April of 2024. Do  the Bears have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Chargers turn the tables on them?  We'll have the answer soon enough.
