Baseball Recap: Tahanto Regional Takes a Loss

Tahanto Regional had lost six straight at home, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 5-9 to make it seven. They came up short against the Clinton Gaels, falling 7-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Stags of the 7-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Tahanto Regional saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tom Chamberlain, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

As for Clinton, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games.

On Clinton's side, Aiden Dubois tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over six innings pitched.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Josh Nelson, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season. Ethan Frisch was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tahanto Regional will venture away from home to take on Gardner at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Clinton, they will head out to square off against North Middlesex Regional at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
