Football Game Preview: Grandview Wolves vs. Chatfield Chargers + Official Tickets

The Grandview Wolves will face off against the Chatfield Chargers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Grandview is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Colorado's top teams: Cherry Creek, who was ranked first at the time (Grandview was ranked 13th). The Wolves took a blow against the Bruins on Friday, falling 52-15. The Wolves haven't had much luck with the Bruins recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Despite the defeat, Grandview saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Timothy Arnold III picked up 134 receiving yards and one score. Those 134 receiving yards set a new season-high mark for Arnold III. Blitz McCarty was another key player, having thrown for 290 yards and onetouchdown.

Meanwhile, Chatfield scored first but ultimately less than Columbine in their game on Friday. They lost to the Rebels at home by a 24-7 margin. The matchup was a 7-7 toss-up at halftime, but the Chargers couldn't quite close it out.

Grandview will have to contain Cash Williams as he made an impact in Chatfield's last game. He rushed for 64 yards and one TD, and also threw for 188 yards on 15 of 31 attempts.

Grandview's record now sits at 5-5. As for Chatfield, their record is now 4-6.

Grandview couldn't quite get it done against Chatfield in their previous matchup back in November of 2023 as they fell 37-28. Thankfully for the Wolves, Jake Jones (who rushed for 179 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 11 carries, and also threw for 165 yards and three TDs) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
