Foothill and Liberty are an even 5-5 against one another since October of 2016, but not for long. The Falcons will be playing at home against the Patriots at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Foothill has struggled recently with four defeats in a row, while Liberty will arrive with six straight wins.

Foothill saw some tournament action on Saturday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of La Canada.

Meanwhile, Liberty faced Coronado in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Patriots had just enough and edged out the Cougars 3-2.

Liberty got the W, but it wasn't easy, at least in the fourth set. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-17, 25-20, 28-30, 15-11.

Liberty's victory bumped their record up to 21-8. As for Foothill, their loss dropped their record down to 12-18.
