Baseball Recap: Collins Comes Up Short

Collins extended their losing streak to seven on Tuesday, dropping them down to 1-9. They came up short against the North Forrest Eagles, falling 16-1. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Tigers couldn't push the score so high this time.

As for North Forrest, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games.

For North Forrest's part, the team relied heavily on Tyler Spencer, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. Spencer is becoming a predictor of the Eagles' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 5-6 when he doesn't). Chance Rogers also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: North Forrest beat Collins by a score of 15-2 later that day.
