Meanwhile, Boys Latin came tearing into Wednesday's contest with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.6 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Vikings with a sharp 12-1 victory. The Lakers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matchups by seven runs or more this season.
Jonah Stockton made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Stockton was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Colton Bordick, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Griffin Kulinski was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
Boys Latin was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .484. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Boys Latin pushed their record up to 7-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games. As for Annapolis Area Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.
Annapolis Area Christian couldn't quite finish off Boys Latin in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 and fell 6-4. Can Annapolis Area Christian avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
