Basketball Recap: Washington-Liberty Finds Home Court Redemption Against Clarke County

There's no place like home for Washington-Liberty, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Clarke County Eagles on Thursday as the Washington-Liberty Generals made off with a 62-42 victory. The win was all the more spectacular given the Generals' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 122nd, while the Eagles are ranked 20th).

Washington-Liberty's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-4. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.7 points per game. As for Clarke County, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-2.

Washington-Liberty and Briar Woods will face off at 3:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. As for Clarke County, they will host Strasburg at 7:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
