Recap: Effingham County Rebels vs. Groves Rebels
There's no place like home for the Effingham County Rebels, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road on Monday. They blew past Groves 58-23 at home. That's another feather in the cap for Effingham County, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Effingham County's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Abbi Jones, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 10 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Rachel Reagan, who scored 14 points along with 7 steals and 5 rebounds.
Despite the loss, Groves still got an impressive performance from Ken?Nya Savage, who scored 8 points.
The victory got Effingham County back to even at 1-1. As for Groves, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 1-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Effingham County will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Richmond Hill at 6:00 p.m. on December 1st. As for Groves, they will head out on the road to face off against Savannah at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
