Basketball Recap: Porter Ridge Takes a Loss

Porter Ridge lost against Weddington back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Porter Ridge Pirates took a 53-35 bruising from the Weddington Warriors. The matchup marked the Pirates' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Leading Weddington to victory were KJ Younger and Jake Ford. Younger went 8 of 13 en route to 19 points and eight boards, while Ford posted 11 points. Younger has been hot for a while, having posted 15 or more points the last 23 times he's played. Jaden Nnaji was another key player, putting up four points and seven rebounds.

Porter Ridge has been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 12 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-16 record this season. As for Weddington, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Porter Ridge has already played their next matchup (against Cuthbertson), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Weddington has also has no score uploaded for their next game, this one against Sun Valley.
