Volleyball Recap: Milpitas Takes a Loss

Milpitas suffered their biggest loss since April 3rd on Monday. They came up short against the Palo Alto Vikings, falling 3-0. The Trojans have struggled against the Vikings recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

While Milpitas had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 20 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-22, 25-20.

Their offense was headlined by Ryan Saxelby and Alonzo Davis, who picked up five kills apiece. They got some help from Justin Wang and his ten assists. He was also solid from the service line: he led the team with three aces.

Milpitas' defeat dropped their record down to 15-9. As for Palo Alto, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 20-11.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Milpitas will welcome Santa Clara at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Palo Alto, they will be playing in front of their home fans against MacDonald at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday. The Vikings are facing the Condor at the right time seeing as the Condor are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
