Softball Game Preview: Zephyrhills Bulldogs vs. Wiregrass Ranch Bulls

Zephyrhills hasn't had much luck against Wiregrass Ranch recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Zephyrhills Bulldogs will welcome the Wiregrass Ranch Bulls at 7:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Thursday, Zephyrhills came up short against Nature Coast Tech and fell 6-3.

Melanie Moreno made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one triple and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Hannah Helms, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Wiregrass Ranch didn't have quite enough to beat Steinbrenner on Monday and fell 4-2. The loss continues a trend for the Bulls in their meetings with the Warriors: they've now lost four in a row.

Kayla Valentin was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run and one stolen base. That home run was her first of the season. Aubrey Zechmann was another key player, scoring a run and stealing Two bases.

Wiregrass Ranch's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Zephyrhills, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Zephyrhills suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to Wiregrass Ranch in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can Zephyrhills avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
