Football Game Preview: Columbus Blue Devils vs. Hardaway Hawks

Columbus hasn't had much luck against Hardaway recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Blue Devils will welcome the Hawks at 7:00 p.m. Hardaway took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Columbus, who comes in off a win.

On Friday, Columbus humbled Greenville with a 42-8 victory. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Blue Devils.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Columbus to victory, but perhaps none more so than Rayshaun Glover, who rushed for 83 yards and two scores on only five carries. Those 83 rushing yards gave Glover a new career-high. Another rusher making a difference was Grant Geringer, who rushed for 79 yards and a pair of TDs on only eight carries.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Hardaway's offense. They were beaten by Carver 55-0 last Friday. While losing is never fun, the Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 443rd, while the Tigers are ranked 71st).

Columbus' victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Hardaway, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.

Columbus was dealt a bruising 47-6 defeat at the hands of Hardaway in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Blue Devils were down 34-0.
