Baseball Game Preview: Arleta Mustangs vs. Chavez Eagles

The Arleta Mustangs are taking a road trip to take on the Chavez Eagles at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Arleta's hitters haven't had much luck over their past five contests, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Arleta saw some tournament action on Thursday. They took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of San Jacinto.

Arleta saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jaden Hernandez, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI. Those hits were Hernandez's first of the season.

Meanwhile, Chavez came into Monday's matchup having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They walked away with a 7-2 victory over Grant two weeks ago.

Joey Uribe was excellent, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Daniel Zelaya, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Arleta's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Chavez, their win bumped their record up to 2-8.

Arleta beat Chavez 4-1 in their previous meeting back in February. Will the Mustangs repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
